1482318 Locking devices in swivel door drive mechanisms E BODE 14 July 1975 [15 July 1974] 29429/75 Heading E2M A drive mechanism 7 acting via a pivoting column 3 and arms 6 on a door 2 includes a drive shaft 3a to the upper end of which is secured an arm 11; a locking member 16 being movable into the path of the arm 11 to prevent movement of the drive mechanism out of a closed position. Member 16 is secured to a shaft 15 and is normally urged by a pressure fluid piston and cylinder means 12 (which acts on the shaft via an arm 14 arranged above the arm 16) to an inoperative position; failure of the pressure fluid causing a biassing spring (not shown) to move member 16 to the locking position shown. In the case of compressed air operated doors, the means 12 could be supplied with air from the door drive circuit and failure in this circuit would lock the doors closed. A manual cable pull 22 can be operated to effect unlocking. A lug 17 projects from the shaft 15 and cooperates with stops 18, 18a. Above the locking mechanism a stub axle is secured to shaft 3a which carries two cams actuating switches to indicate the door position.
