PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change magnification by moving a lens, without impairing operability, even though an illuminating light source and various kinds of operation switches are mounted highly densely in the periphery of the lens, in the inside of an image pickup head. SOLUTION: A lens (4) for magnifying the image of an object to be observed is provided at a slider (9) which slides back and forth by specified stroke from a low-magnification imaging position (PL) to a high-magnification imaging position (PH), and the slider (9) is moved back and forth by a driving wire (14) moved back and forth in parallel with an optical axis (X), so as to move the lens, even though the illuminating light source and the various kinds of the operation switches are mounted highly densely in the periphery of the lens.
