A tapered ball bearing has an inner cone 4 with an end-thrust flange A; a number of rows of balls 1-3 of decreasing diameter; loose, movable rings B, C which separate the rows of balls; and an outer bearing-cup 5. The cone 4 may have a protrusion 7 to hold the balls in place during assembly; cages 9 may be provided and may have rounded slots therein; and the rings B, C may be slightly grooved to receive the balls and shaped to fit the contour of the cone 4.</p> |
