PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a catalyst for removing nitrogen oxides which can be produced continuously and support a catalyst component to have enough peel strength even when an inorganic fiber sheet is made a thin plate. SOLUTION: The method includes a process (roller 1 and 2) in which a base material of inorganic fiber sheet is impregnated with the slurry and/or sol of a catalyst composition containing titanium oxide and at least one of the oxides of vanadium, molybdenum, and tungsten so that a space formed by inorganic fibers is filled with a catalyst composition in the finally obtained catalyst, the weight ratio of the catalyst composition/the inorganic fibers is as least 3, and the apparent density of the catalyst is at least 0.8 g/cm<2> , and compression from the upper surface and/or lower surface of the base material and its relaxation are applied one or more times and a process in which the base material is passed between a pair of heated molding rollers 5 and 6 one or more times. |
