PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-supporting support for a shelf that does not cause a 'shake' or a 'slip' in an engaged connection between a shelf pole and a bracket due to a load to the shelf. SOLUTION: In a support for a self-supporting shelf made up of a plurality of shelf poles 1, and a bracket 2 engagedly connected with the shelf pole 1, when engagedly connecting the bracket 2 to the shelf poles 1, a hook material 5 in which a hook hole 4 having a taper shape 3 downwardly tapering is provided is fitted into a vertical groove 6 of the shelf pole 1, a hook protrusion 7 of the bracket 2 is engaged and fastened to the hook hole 4.
