PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an additive for green tea beverages, through which such a flavor as that of a freshly drawn green tea beverage can be retained, even after time passed, in green tea beverages normally apt to be deteriorated with time, or further palatability can be imparted to the green tea beverages, and to provide a green tea beverage added with the additive. SOLUTION: This additive for green tea beverages is characterized by containing at least one kind of compound selected from 2-methylfuran-3-thiol and p-menthane-8-thiol-3-one shown in formulas (1), (2) and (3) (wherein, R1 to R9 are each hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl groups, or the like, defined in Claim 1). The green tea beverage is obtained by adding the additive to a green tea beverage. |
