PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently flocculate and sediment powdered coal in powdered coal-containing wastewater to separate the same. SOLUTION: Powdered coal-containing wastewater 6 is supplied to a sedimentation tank 2 wherein an anode 3 and a cathode 4 are counterposed and DC voltage is applied across the anode 3 and the cathode 4 to flocculate and sediment powdered coal.
