INSTALLATION FOR AUTOMATIC EVALUATION OF ROLLING RIMS OF WHEELS OF TRAVELING TRAIN

摘要

FIELD: detection of cracks in rims of wheels of running trains. SUBSTANCE: given installation makes it possible to generate ultrasonic diagrams of wheels while they run over sensitive elements installed in rail track. Installation includes rail beam per each rail line, guiding rail to secure direction of wheels, sensitive elements with holders put on rail beam, local processor, computer controlling ultrasonic equipment, antenna connected to computer to identify measured composite parts of train. Installation enables cracks in rim of wheel to be detected at earlier stage and to take proper measures which ensure enhanced safety of railway traffic.
