PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic latch system for an automobile, which can make it impossible for a door under a closed state to be opened from the inside thereof, without depending on a release-of-door-latch prohibiting mechanism. SOLUTION: A microcomputer 50 determines entrance into an on-state of an inside handle switch 20 concurrently with the entrance thereinto. After that, when it is determined that the automobile is under a traveling state, according to detection output of a speed sensor 40, an unlatching operation of a latch mechanism 10 is prohibited via a latch relay circuit 70.
