PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device, in which the positional accuracy for mounting a mirror (MIR') reflecting at right angles with respect to an optical base is improved. SOLUTION: By the mirror (MIR'), a laser beam emitted from a semiconductor laser (LD') is reflected by its reflecting surface and converged to the signal recording surface of an optical disk (Disc) by an objective lens (OL'), then a return light from this signal recording surface is reflected by the reflecting surface and detected by a photodetector (PD). The starting mirror is arranged so that a starting angle (θ') of the reflecting surface is smaller than 45 deg. with respect to the lower surface of the optical pickup device. The optical base (OB) is provided with an opening (OB-1) at the lower surface side so as to hold the starting mirror and also provided with a supporting part SUP for supporting a part of the reflecting surface of the starting mirror so that the starting mirror is set to be oblique to the lower surface of the optical base in this opening, and also a notched part (OB-2) is arranged in the area corresponding to a corner part of 90 deg. of the starting mirror. |
