PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for zoom lens barrel capable of realizing the miniaturization of a zoom compact camera and the improvement of the assembling workability of a photographing optical system. SOLUTION: In an inner zooming type photographing optical system where zooming is performed by keeping space between a first lens group and a final lens group constant and moving an inside lens group positioned between the first and the final lens groups in a zooming area, the zoom lens barrel where space between the first and the final lens groups is shortened at housing time, is equipped with a lens frame ring supported to freely relatively move in an optical axis direction without relatively rotating to a first lens holding ring holding the first lens group, and holding the final lens group so as to change the space between the final and the first lens groups. The lens frame ring is equipped with a leg-like piece extended in an optical axis direction, and the leg-like piece is equipped with a pawl part engaged with the first lens holding ring to keep the space between the first and the final lens groups constant.
