METHOD FOR RETAINING FLAT CABLE REINFORCED WITH TENSION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a work for retaining a flat cable 10 reinforced with tension wire and to prevent a damage of a coated optical fiber 14. SOLUTION: A retaining part 22 having two cutting blades 28 which are kept opposite to each other with a space S which is smaller than the thickness T of the sheath 12 of the flat cable 10 reinforced with tension wire and equal to or larger than the outer diameter D of the tension wire 16 is used. The retaining part 22 is fixed on a fixing body 20, the flat cable 10 is pushed in between two cutting blades 28 of the fixed retaining part 22 and the cutting blades 28 of the retaining part 22 are made cut into the sheath 12 of the flat cable, thus the flat cable 10 is retained.
