PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission system that enable makes a station side to inform a subscriber side about the timing information, to specify a period as to when the effect of crosstalk is to be received from an adjacent channel. SOLUTION: In a digital subscriber line (xDSL) transmission, a station side device informs a subscriber device about a training symbol stream 500, to which the timing information T1 to specify a period, when effects of crosstalks is received from an adjacent channel is included at training carried out prior to data communication. Furthermore, by making the phase of a training symbol 501 (A→B) change, the timing information T1 is inserted in the training symbol sequence.
