The system for aiming a gun comprises a shield (2a) mounted around the gun and connected to a piston-and-cylinder unit (3) or motor. This swivels the gun about an axis behind it. A motor (4), acting at right angles to the first, is connected to an intermediate ring (2c) inside the shield and a third motor acts on a cradle (2b) around the gun barrel. These swivel the gun about vertical and horizontal axes which intersect at the center of gravity of the gun.
