PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently treat each surface of monofilaments constituting a multifilament, to soften and dull the multifilament by using a turning flow of pressurized air containing an abrasive. SOLUTION: Pressurized air containing an abrasive is introduced into a treatment zone 5, the turning flow of pressurized air is formed from one end side 1 toward the other end side 2 in the zone 5, a multifilament Y is passed through the turning flow of pressurized air, the multifilament is dispersed into respective monofilaments constituting the multifilament. The turning flow is brought into contact with the surface of each monofilament so as to polish the surface of each monofilament constituting the multifilament. In the operation, a suction part 7 is connected to the inlet side of the treatment zone, a low pressure is maintained in the zone and the pressurized air containing the abrasive is sucked and recovered.
