PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion secondary battery improved in safety and long-term stability. SOLUTION: The lithium secondary battery 50 comprising an internal electrode 40 in which positive electrodes and negative electrodes are arranged so as to surround the external peripheral wall of a wound core in the form of a hollow cylinder and which is impregnated with a non-aqueous electrolyte, a cylindrical battery case 72 opened at both ends, in the interior of which the internal electrode 40 is housed, and two electrode terminals which have internal terminals 74A, 74B, external terminals 73A, 73B, and cell lids 71A, 71B, respectively, and seal the internal electrode 40 at both open ends of the battery case 72. At least one of the two electrode terminals has a pressure-releasing hole 77, and the wound core 41 is held and fixed by the two electrode terminals arranged at both ends of the battery case 72 and is composed of a material having a melting temperature not lower than the boiling temperature of the non-aqueous electrolyte. |
