PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an oil intrusion preventing operation by an oil intrusion preventing part used for preventing oil leakage to a pump chamber in a vacuum pump. SOLUTION: A shaft sealing annular body 49 is engaged with and fixed to a rotating shaft 19 in an insert hole 47 formed in a rear housing 14. An oil intrusion preventing ring 66 is fixed to the shaft sealing annular body 49. The oil intrusion preventing ring 66 is provided with a pair of oil intrusion preventing parts 67 and 68. The shaft sealing annular body 49 is provided with an oil intrusion preventing part 72. The oil intrusion preventing parts 67, 68, and 72 are disposed in parallel in the direction of the axis 191 of the rotating shaft 19.
