PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the periodical inspection process of a refrigerating machine for a cooling water system for ventilation and air conditioning. SOLUTION: When four sets of refrigerating machines 10 are inspected, another refrigerating machine 1 employed for a cooling water cooling facility is operated while an air conditioner 6 is connected to the other refrigerating machine 1 through a three-way valve 7, and the air conditioner 6 is disconnected from the four sets of refrigerating machines 10 to stop the four sets of refrigerating machines 10 and inspect them. When the refrigerating machine in the other cooling system is inspected, four sets of refrigerating machines 10 are connected to the air conditioner 6 and the other refrigerating machine is disconnected from the air conditioner 6 through the three-way valve, while the other refrigerating machine 1 is connected to the air conditioner of the other cooling system through another three-way valve 8 to stop all refrigerating machines of the other cooling system and inspect them. The function of a refrigerating machine under inspection is born by the other refrigerating machine 1 whereby air conditioning under the inspection can be achieved.
