HEADLAMP FOR SELECTIVELY IRRADIATING LIGHT OF GAS DISCHARGE LAMP OF VEHICLE

PURPOSE: A headlamp for selectively irradiating the light of a gas discharge lamp of a vehicle is provided to selectively irradiate a high beam and a low beam when the vehicle faces another vehicle in a night travel by using a light emitting unit. CONSTITUTION: A cylindrical housing(10) has a receiving section. A support cap(80) combined to the inlet portion of the housing has a withdrawal hole(81) and fixing pieces(82). The withdrawal hole is for the withdrawal of a light emitting unit(70). A guide member(90) fixed on the side of the support cap guides the entrance of the light emitting unit. A mount received in the receiving section of the housing has a fixing step and a magnet. The bottom of the light emitting unit is fixed on the lateral center of the mount. A coil installed near the mount has a guide hole for the backward movement of the magnet. A compressive spring is interposed between the mount and the coil. The inner rear end portion of the housing is covered with a cover. The light emitting unit is instantaneously moved backwardly by the Fleming's left-hand law.
