发明名称 Improvements relating to cleaning water surfaces
摘要 990,847. Cleaning water surfaces. F. GRABBE, and K. HINTERSDORF. Nov. 7, 1963 [Nov. 20, 1962], No. 44040/63. Heading B1D. Floating impurities (e.g. oil) are removed from a water surface by an endless belt 2, which passes through the surface at an angle, over an immersed roller 3 and up to a cleaning station 8, 9, the lower run 2<SP>1</SP> of the belt moving in the direction of flow of the water and oil sticking to the belt until removed at the cleaning station. The apparatus either straddles a moving stream, or floats on and moves over stagnant water. The belt is driven at variable speed so that the lower run of the belt has zero net velocity relative to the water in the horizontal plane. The belt may comprise a plurality of closely spaced bands of circular cross-section, made of smooth polyvinyl chloride, rollers 4, 5, 6 separating alternate bands into two groups, to facilitate separate cleaning by pairs of cooperating comb-like scrapers 8, Fig. 3 (not shown), trays 9 receiving the impurities. Rollers 3-7 may be roughened and roller 7 used for tensioning. The apparatus comprises side plates 1, which are adjustable in a framework, to vary the height of the apparatus relative to the water and the angle of inclination of lower run 2<SP>1</SP>. The side plates 1 carry spaced intake plates 11 which engage the surface and divert floating impurities towards the belt. A marine screw may accelerate the flow between plates 1.
