PURPOSE: A rotary shock absorber of a vehicle is provided to improve freedom of design of a suspension arm by horizontally installing a shock absorber between a vehicle body and the suspension arm and having damping force by not rectilinear motion but vortex motion. CONSTITUTION: A rotary shock absorber of a vehicle comprises a suspension arm-mounting member(20), a vehicle body-mounting member(30), a rotating member(20d), a valve body(30c), and high pressure-compressed gas and hydraulic oil. The suspension arm-mounting member behaves in the same direction as the behavior direction of a suspension arm, with disposed parallel with the suspension arm. The vehicle body-mounting member is coupled with the suspension arm-mounting member so as to form closed space inside and is fixed to the vehicle body. The rotating member is coupled to the suspension arm-mounting member so as to behave according to the behavior of the suspension arm in the closed space. The valve body has orifices(30e) dividing the inner space together with the rotating member and passing through the valve body, with coupled in the vehicle body-mounting member. The compressed gas and hydraulic oil is filled into the space divided by the rotating member and valve body.
