1,102,028. Rotary-piston engines. REGIE NATIONALE DES USINES RENAULT. April 1, 1965 [April 2, 1964], No. 13954/65. Heading F1F. A method of balancing a rotary-piston engine assembly comprising an engine shaft 1, an eccentric 2, a piston 3 mounted thereon and the usual counterweights, whereby to compensate for the difference in weight between a production piston and a standard piston of maximum permissible weight (including weight of liquid coolant) of initially balancing the standard pistons in known manner by the counterweights, substituting a production piston and in holes 6 in the eccentric 2 extending parallel to the engine shaft axis and symmetrically positioned with respect to a line joining the engine shaft and piston centres placing additional weight equal to where p 1 = weight of standard piston, p 2 = weight of production piston, d = distance of weights from shaft axis, e = radius of eccentricity. |
