PURPOSE: A method for transmitting a mail in a mobile communication terminal is provided to display a voice and an image suitable for a recipient when the recipient reads the mail by inserting media data such as a music, an effective sound, a moving picture, a still image, and a character image into the mail and transmitting the mail to the recipient using the mobile communication terminal. CONSTITUTION: A mail server receives mail contents and media information from a mobile communication terminal of a sender(ST200), and judges whether media information is an address code(ST210). If media information is not the address code, the media server transmits the mail contents and media information to a mobile communication terminal of a recipient(ST250). If media information is the address code, the mail server connects to a media server(ST220), and receives media data(ST230). The mail server inserts the downloaded media data into a corresponding position of a mail(ST240), and transmits the mail contents and media information to the mobile communication terminal of the recipient(ST250).
