PURPOSE: A system and a method for improving the climbing performance of a vehicle are provided to make the vehicle easily climb a ramp without the loss of the driving power by preventing the rolling of the front wheels of the vehicle when the vehicle starts again. CONSTITUTION: A hydraulic spring(10) is installed in a shock absorber(2) of a vehicle. An actuator(20) operates the hydraulic spring. A slope sensor(40) detects the inclination angle of the vehicle. A hydraulic control unit(30) operates the actuator corresponding to the engine RPM(Revolution Per Minute) and the signal transmitted from the slope sensor. If the inclination angle of the vehicle is over 10 degrees, air is removed from the hydraulic spring. Then, the front height of the vehicle is lowered on a ramp. Even if the load distribution of the vehicle concentrates on the rear portion, the contact force of front tires is increased. Therefore, the rolling of the tires is suppressed.
