<p>A braking system includes brake pads (13,15) for engaging a brake disc (14), one of the brake pads (15) including at least two raised parallel sections thereon each having a tapering leading edge, the brake pad (15) co-operating with a plate (17) having at least two raised parallel sections thereon whereby, on reverse rotation of the disc with the brake applied, a reduction in the braking force between the pads (13,15) and the disc (14) is effected.</p> |
