An agent for the prevention, treatment and/or diagnosis of tumors comprises: (i) a vector (A) as a gene transfer vehicle; (ii) (ii) an enhancer/promoter (B); and (iii) a transgene (C), where (B) is activated in normal tissue when it is invaded by a tumor. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an agent for the prevention or treatment of tumors comprising an antitumor transgene or sequence (C1) that includes a membrane anchor sequence; and (2) use of a gene transfer vector for preparing a composition for treatment or prevention of tumor comprising an antitumor transgene or sequence (C2) that includes a membrane anchor or secretion sequence.
