PURPOSE: A method for providing position information of an origination subscriber is provided to offer a telephone number and position information of the origination subscriber to a terminal of a termination subscriber in a mobile communication network. CONSTITUTION: An origination-side MSC(Mobile Switching Center) receives an origination call, provides an LAID(Location Area ID) of an origination subscriber to an HLR(Home Location Register), and requests position information of a termination subscriber. If the termination subscriber is a subscriber of a position information service, the HLR transmits a position information service request message including the LAID of the origination subscriber to a call control system. If the position information service request message is received, the call control system transmits position information of the origination subscriber corresponding to LAID of the origination subscriber to the HLR. The HLR transmits position information of the origination subscriber to a termination-side MSC, requests the termination-side MSC to assign a TLDN(Temporary Local Directory Number) for searching the termination-side MSC in the origination MSC, and transmits the assigned TLDN to the origination-side MSC. If a call setup is completed from the origination-side MSC to the termination-side MSC, the termination-side MSC transmits position information of the origination subscriber to a mobile terminal of the termination subscriber. |
