PURPOSE: An accumulator for a hydraulic controller of an automatic transmission is provided to make parts used in common and to realize the optimal shifting feeling by applying a torque capacity to many different friction elements even with a single accumulator. CONSTITUTION: An accumulator(30) comprises a housing(32) of a specific capacity, a pressure-variable shock absorbing member(34) of which rear face is elastically supported in the housing, and an adjuster(36) controlling the preliminary pressure of the pressure-variable shock absorbing member. The shock absorbing member comprises a pressure plate(34a) applied with pressure on the front face and a diaphragm(34b) combined to the rear face of the pressure plate.
