PURPOSE: Rapidly expansive metal oxides prepared by vaporization of metal powder and non metal nitrate are provided to offer high expansive force, reduce explosion sound and vibration, and prevent scattering of broken pieces. CONSTITUTION: The rapidly expansive metal oxides are prepared by mixing metal powders and non metal nitrates in a weight ratio of 0.1-99.9 : 99.1-0.1, where the metals are Al, Si, Na, K, Li, Mg, Ca, etc. and the non metal nitrates are one or more of metal oxides, metal hydrates, metal carbonates and metal sulfates. The expansive metal oxides are exploded by electric arc, which generates high heat(3000-30000deg.C) and vaporization expansion of the mixture due to instantaneous bonding reaction.
