<p>The safety valve, designed to release pressure inside a container such as a gas cylinder when it reaches a set threshold level, has a body in the form of a dowel (1) with its open end exposed to the gas pressure and its base closed with the exception of a minute hole (12), which is plugged with a fusible metal (18). The body of the dowel has at least one radial hole (14), and its base is fitted with a cap (16) which moves to expose the radial hole(s) when the fusible metal melts, releasing excess pressure.</p> |
