PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a cut section hardly be discolored when a sheet material such as a photographic paper sheet to which an application agent is applied is cut. SOLUTION: In a cutter for cutting the sheet material to which a coating agent is applied with a fixed blade and movable blade intersecting with and pressed to each other, a main taper having a blade face angle of 25 deg. to 35 deg. is provided in the face of a cutter on the side contacting the coating agent, and a black taper having a blade face angle of 1 deg. to 5 deg. is also provided in the back face. When the sheet material is cut by the cutter relating to the present invention, which has the main taper and the back taper, the swelling of the coating agent at the cut section becomes small, as a result, discoloring of the cut section becomes little.
