PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To degrade the flexibility of metatarsal segments of a midsole structure of sport shoes with a simple structure and to improve the flexibility of forefoot segments. SOLUTION: The midsole structure is provided with a midsole 3 made of a soft elastic member extended from the heel segment of the shoes through the metatarsal segment toward the forefoot segment and a shank member 10 made of a resin which is arranged in a region covering the metatarsal segment B of the midsole 3 and has a sectional shape of a transverse length longer in the size (w) in the longitudinal direction of the shoes than the size (h) in the vertical direction of the shoes. As a result, the bending rigidity in the metatarsal segment B of the midsole 3 is increased and the shank member 10 effectively exhibits a shank effect during bending of the midsole 3, thereby preventing the midsole 3 from giving rise to bending deformation from the metatarsal segment B of the midsole 3. Consequently, the flexibility in the forefoot segment C of the midsole 3 can be improved.
