PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound absorptive soundproof material for car applications capable of considerably reducing the weight and the noise level in a cabin. SOLUTION: This soundproof material has a three-layer structure comprising a first sound absorbing layer 3, an intermediate layer 4 and a second sound absorbing layer 5. The first sound absorbing layer and the second sound absorbing layer are formed of fibers such as a glass wool or a synthetic resin foam such as urethane foam, and the intermediate layer is formed of a nonwoven fabric with the coating weight of 10-200 g/m<2> , and the air permeability is 3-35 cc/cm<2> /sec.
