PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcasting system that provides no sense of incongruity to a viewer during downloading of storage program data. SOLUTION: A broadcasting station 10 broadcasts a digital broadcast signal to a receiver 20 by using part of a transmission band 30 and also broadcasts a CM source file to the receiver 20 by using an idle band in the transmission band 30. The receiver 20 stores the CM source file sent through the free band in the transmission band 30 from the broadcasting station 10 to a storage device 26 in the receiver 20 and selects a CM source file with a proper time length among a plurality of CM source files stored in the storage device 26 within the time storing storage type program data to the storage device 26 during viewing of a program and reads and allows a display section 24 to reproduce and display the selected CM source file.
