PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reliable impact detector with reduced dispersion of performance. SOLUTION: The contact means of this impact detector 1 is formed of a plate spring-like movable contact 5 elastically deformed by being pressed by a cam 2, when a rotor 3 is rotated and a fixed contact 6 to make contact with the movable contact 5 due to its deformation. Since the highly rigid fixed contact 6 is used as the other side of the connecting means, the fixed contact 6 can be prevented from resonating by the influence of the impact G of a vehicle, and a stable ON signal can be thus outputted. When the rotor 3 is energized to an initial position, the tip of the movable contact 5 is engagingly locked by a preload stopper 14 and supported, in a state of its being separated from the cam 2. Accordingly, since the elastic force of the movable contact 5 will not be applied to the cam 2, until the rotor 3 is rotated to allow the cam 2 to abut on the movable contact 5, the friction torque generated between the movable contact 5 and the cam 2 (rotor 3) can be made zero, and the dispersion of performance can be reduced.
