The door lock consists of a housing (10) fixed to the door frame (2), containing a lock with a component (13) that moves to lock or release a catch (5) on the edge of the door (3), operated by a mechanism (15) controlled by an actuator on the elevator car. The lock can be opened in an emergency by a separate mechanism (40) independent of the lock control mechanism (15) and designed to move the lock component (13) in the catch release direction only.
