PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for a card with a more compact and thinner size. SOLUTION: The connector for a card 10 is so made that an ejection mechanism is structured by an ejection rod 60 made free in movement in the insertion and removal direction of a car 1 and an ejection lever 61 turning according to the movement of the ejection rod 60 in the insertion and removal direction, so that the card 1 may be ejected outside with the ejection lever 61. The ejection lever is provided with a plate-shape lever main body 65, the side edge of which is made in contact with the front end face 1a in the insertion direction of the card 1. For the first half of ejection movement, about a center part of the side edge of the lever main body is made to contact with around a center part of the front end face 1a of the card 1, and for the latter half, the side edge of the end of the lever main body is made to contact with the end part of the front end face 1a of the card 1. A card-receiving hollow is covered with a metal cover 40, and ribs 44, 45 coming in contact with the surface of the card 1 are set at a top plate 41.
