PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an end user of an information terminal to utilize also an application prepared by the specification of an optical company and to enable a communication service company to easily correspond to any situation even when the capacity of a ROM and a RAM of the information terminal is reduced, a trouble occurs in an execution environment of the execution environment is expanded. SOLUTION: A method for receiving an application provided via a network by an information terminal includes a step for requesting an application and at least a part of application execution environments for executing the application from the information terminal to a gateway on the network and a step for receiving a file including the application and at least a part of the application execution environment from the gateway by the information terminal.
