Rod reducers (50) for use in orthopedic surgery are disclosed that include a fastener engaging member (80) and a reducing member (100) coupled together b y an actuator assembly (51). The fastener engaging member (80) can be secured to a fastener (f) engaged to bone or tissue of the patient. The actuator assemb ly moves the reducing member (100) such that its distal end contacts a rod (R) and moves it toward the fastener.
