[Also in Division F2] In a portable electrically driven tool, e.g. a sander, two housings 13, 14 are secured together and at least one 13 moulded from electrically insulating material and a radially - armed bearing-hub insert combined within it during moulding, the insert having a hub 20 with a bearing seat 27 and with a number of radially projecting arms 21, fastening means passing through respective bores in the ends of the insert to secure the housings together. Screws 24A pass through handle 14 and respective apertures 30 in motor housing 13 to respective bores which are formed in bosses 22 at the end of each arm. A recess 28 is provided adjacent the end of the motor shaft 33 journalled in bearing 32. The housings may be of glass fibre reinforced polyester resin. |
