The cap for a vehicle fuel tank is made in one piece from plastic and is designed like a bayonet fitting, with lugs (25) which fit under the inwardly-curved rim (12) of the fuel inlet (10). The lower edge (14) is contoured to guide the cap as it is turned. A hinged flap (18) in the top of the cap allows access to a funnel-shaped filling section (20).
