Butadiene derivatives represented by the general formula [I] and having excellent PAI−1 inhibitory activity and so on, or pharmacologically acceptable salts thereof; a process for preparing the derivatives or the salts; and intermediates for the synthesis of the same: [I] wherein R1 is hydrogen or lower alkyl; R2 is lower alkyl; R3 is lower alkoxy; R4 is hydrogen or lower alkyl; and R5 is lower alkyl.
