PURPOSE: A method for displaying an image through an external LCD of a mobile communication terminal is provided to display a user's own character image through the mobile communication terminal by storing the character image in the mobile communication terminal having two LCDs and displaying the stored character image on the external LCD when a folder of the mobile communication terminal is opened by the user. CONSTITUTION: A user selects a character image through the connection of a wireless Internet server or a data transmission cable and stores the selected character image in a mobile communication terminal(S1). A control unit of the mobile communication terminal judges whether a folder open signal is detected and discriminates whether a folder of the mobile communication terminal is opened(S2). If the folder is opened, the control unit detects the stored character image and displays the detected character image on an external LCD of the mobile communication terminal(S3).
