PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation device capable of improving the convenience of aural guide. SOLUTION: A crossing guide part 32 generates a course guide chart for guiding a course at a crossing where the own car is approaching at a timing for course guide, and displays the chart on a display device 6 through an image synthesis part 18. A guide sentence setting part 40 acquires prescribed words (a crossing name, a place name showing a destination or the like) necessary for the course guide from a crossing guide part 32, and sets a course guide sentence by using a user's mother language. Then, the guide sentence setting part 40 sets the course guide sentence by replacing a word having corresponding plural reading ways such as the place name with a local language (language used in a district corresponding to the vehicle position). An aural signal is generated by a voice synthesis part 42 based on the set guide sentence and inputted into a speaker 7, and a voice output of the course guide sentence using both the mother language and the local language is performed. |
