PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printed matter, which has see-through properties from one side thereof and light shading properties allowing not to observe its interior from the other side thereof and, at the same time, a beautiful appearance with multicolor images for decoration, advertisement or the like and further the intricate properties for manufacturing of which is solved. SOLUTION: A thermal transfer ribbon 1, which is formed by laminating a thermal transfer layer 5-1 or 5-3 consisting of a white layer 3 and a masking layer 4 on a base material 2, and a light transmittable sheet 7 is combined so as to transfer the thermal transfer layer 5-1 in Fig. 1 or 5-3 in Fig. 3 from the thermal transfer ribbon 1 to the light transmittable sheet 7. In the printed matter, a colored thermal transfer layer 5-2 in Fig. 3 or images 8 with ink jet ink are formed without overflowing the white layer 3 at the location positioning on the white layer 3 through the light transmittable sheet 7. In the printed matter, the thermal transfer layer 5-3 is transferred on the light transmittable sheet 7, on which the colored thermal transfer layer 5-2 or the images 8 with ink jet ink are formed in advance, with the thermal transfer ribbon 1 formed by laminating the thermal transfer layer 5-3 consisting of the masking layer 4 and the white layer 3 in the order named on the base material 2 so as to cover the whole images 8. |
