PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a crystal of an aminoketone useful as an intermediate for medicines and the like, represented by the general formula (2) (wherein, X<1> , X<2> , X<3> , and X<4> are each the same or different and H, a halogen atom, alkyl, alkoxy, aryl, or hydroxy; X<2> and X<3> may form phthaloyl together; X<5> is H or hydroxy.). SOLUTION: In this method for producing a crystalline aminoketone represented by the general formula (2), an aminoketone acid-salt represented by the general formula (1) (wherein, X<1> , X<2> , X<3> , X<4> , and X<5> are the same as those mentioned above) is allowed to react with a base in the presence of a hydrophilic organic solvent.
