<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle security device capable of preventing the theft of a vehicle by registering fingerprints by an owner of a car. SOLUTION: This vehicle security device is composed of a shift knob 3 of a transmission having a fingerprint discriminating sensor 5 for discriminating the fingerprint, a finger print discriminating device for discriminating the agreement or disagreement of the fingerprint discriminated by the fingerprint discriminating sensor 5 with the registered fingerprint, and a vehicle control device for permitting or forbidding the start of the vehicle on the basis of a result of discrimination by the finger print discriminating device. As the fingerprint discriminating sensor 5 is mounted on the shift knob 3 of the transmission, the measures to inhibit the start of the vehicle such as locking the transmission 1 and inhibiting the start of an engine can be immediately carried out when a person who is not allowed to use the vehicle, is discriminated.</p> |
