PURPOSE: A method for coding key value of format transform information of a three-dimensional animation object and a device thereof are provided to more effectively code the key value of coordinate interpolator. CONSTITUTION: A device for coding key value of format transform information of a three-dimensional animation object includes a get start(215) generating a search start vertex in response to connection information between vertexes to be coded; a vertex connectivity(220) receiving coordinate interpolator and the search start vertex information for constructing connectivity information of the vertexes; an ADPCM(Adaptive Delta Pulse Code Modulation) processor(230) defining spatial relation of the vertexes in response to the connectivity of the vertexes; a quantizer(225) quantizing output data of the ADPCM processor; a calculate Qstep(235) generating coding bits of X,Y,Z of the key value in response to the quantization result; and an entropy processor(240) receiving the coding bits for removing bit redundancy existing in the quantized value.
