SKIN-WHITENING COSMETIC CONTAINING PLANT EXTRACT HAVING MELANIN-PRODUCTION INHIBITING ACTIVITY

PURPOSE: A process for preparing a skin-whitening cosmetic comprising one selected from the group consisting of an extract of Litchi chinensis Sonn, Allium tuberosum Rottler and Stellaria dichotoma is provided. Whereby, the cosmetic is effective in skin whitening or improvement of chloasma or freckles. CONSTITUTION: Litchi chinensis Sonn, Allium tuberosum Rottler and Stellaria dichotoma are extracted in one or more solvents selected from the group consisting of C1-4 lower alcohol, ethyl acetate and acetone. The skin-whitening cosmetic contains 0.0001 to 10.0% by weight of one component selected from the group consisting of and extract of Litchi chinensis Sonn, Allium tuberosum Rottler and Stellaria dichotoma, based on the total weight of the composition.
