POWDERY ASPHALT MODIFIER CONTAINING WASTE TIRE RUBBER POWDER AND GILSONITE RESIN, MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF ASPHALT CONCRETE USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A powdery asphalt modifier containing waste tire rubber powder and gilsonite resin, manufacturing method thereof and manufacturing method of asphalt concrete using the same are provided, in which gilsonite resin for enhancing high temperature characteristic of asphalt, and waste tire rubber powder for enhancing low temperature and aging characteristic are mixed for improving durability and anti-flowability of asphalt concrete the physical property of which changes greatly according to temperature change. CONSTITUTION: The manufacturing method of an asphalt modifier comprises the steps of first step of measuring 10 to 90 wt.% of waste tire rubber powder and 10 to 90 wt.% of gilsonite resin followed by feeding it to a mixing equipment; a second step of mixing the waste tire rubber powder and gilsonite resin at 30 deg.C; a third step of heating the waste tire rubber powder and liquefied gilsonite resin up to 160 deg.C; a fourth step of feeding the heated waste tire rubber powder and liquefied gilsonite resin into polymerization equipment to conduct thermal polymerization; a fifth step of cooling the thermal polymerized mixture of waste tire rubber powder and liquefied gilsonite resin to lower than 30 deg.C followed by crushing to a particle size of less than 1.0 mm.
